In the directive 91/271 CEE, of the Treatment of Urban Waste water, the different types of waste water are defined:

  • Domestic Waste water: Those proceeding from zones of housing and from services generated principally by the human metabolism and the domestic activities.
  • Industrial Waste water: All the waste water spilt from places used to carry out any commercial or industrial activity, which they are neither domestic waste water nor waters of rain run-off. 
  • Urban Waste water:  The domestic waste water or the mixture of the same ones with industrial waste water and / or waters of rain run-off. All of them habitually are gathered in a system collector and are sent by a terrestrial emissary to a Treatment Waste Water Station). The industries which poor the waste water in this network, will have to treat theirs waters before.
